What Texas incident led to the most extreme internal divisions in the USA? Probably the massacre of the Branch Davidians under David Koresh in 1993. Allegations of impropriety combined with the alleged existence of a massive cache of illegal weapons led to an invasion of federal officers that resulted in a 51-day standoff, gun battles, and a catastrophic burn-down. A year later, a federal building in Oklahoma City thought to be a source of personnel for the government raid was blasted and burned in an apparent vengeance strike. I get the impression that somehow the U.S. military was involved in the Waco incident, although the Posse Comitatus Act bars use of the U.S. military for civilian law-enforcement activities.

It seems perhaps that The Almighty is harking back to this old incident for some reason, as if a key issue were involved such as religious freedom or our constitutional right to own and bear arms. President Clinton was in power when the Oklahoma City bombing took place. In addition to international terrorist attacks such as the one launched by Al Queda under the guidance of Osama Bin Laden, we have experienced some domestic terrorist phenomena. The Al Queda attack was stimulated by trade restrictions against Iraq designed to topple the regime of Saddam Hussein via internal revolution. The trade restrictions resulted in the deaths of many Iraqi children by starvation, (as Saddam refused to give up his perks, according to the official story line) hence the World Trade Center was the focus of the attack. The Hussein regime, however, had not only invaded its manifest-destiny-territory (fine ass-shaped Kuwait, showing it buttocks on the map to Iraq), but also attempted the assassination of President Bush Sr. during a visit to inspect the situation in Kuwait, seeming to lead to a decidedly long-term feud. After all, the USA imports a good deal of valuable oil at favorable rates from Kuwait, and we had a treaty with them, tempting well-oiled butt to Iraq or not. An element resembling family feud that seems to come out when examining the history of the Iraqi wars may tend to work against the Bush family prospects somewhat, and this may also be true with regard to the domestic attack on the Branch Davidian facility in Waco, Texas during the President Bush Sr.'s administration, as signaled by this cloud cover spectacle. Saddam's missile attack on Tel Aviv also probably tended to attract the U.S. Republican assault on his regime, as the U.S. Republican party has worked to draw Jews more and more out of the orbit of the Democratic party, with which they have strongly identified according to polls. Alliance with Israel is proudly maintained by the USA today, although poor Protestant troops in need of friends have a hard time settling there when they test the water.
